Camping 2.0

As you may recall, Mather is an experienced camper. A few weeks ago, we headed out to Calaveras Big Trees State Park to meet up with a big group of friends and enjoy the outdoors.

BIG tree

Mather had a blast! Perhaps she would disagree a bit and say that she didn't enjoy the hiking (hence the pacifier in the picture below) but she perked-up once we offered her the opportunity to touch every tree we passed on the trail.

Mather and her Daddy inside a fallen sequoia.

Mather had a great time playing in the Stanislaus River with Tina.

Papasan and Bob enjoyed some fishing.

And Papasan even caught something,
but it wasn't quite what he was looking for.

We feared that Mather would be a handful to corral in the great outdoors, but she always stayed close to camp and enjoyed hanging out in her very own camp chair...

And eating lots of great food...

She loved the tent...

And she even helped pack up at the end of the weekend...
I think she'd agree that we'll have to do it again next year!

She was 8 months old - definitely still a baby.

catch and release on the dragonfly I trust. Mather is a great camper...glad to have the pictures, she'll remember these trips through pictures.
Baby Daniel went camping with his sister, parents and grandparents in Nova Scotia when he was less than two months old. Who says early experiences don't count!

Bob wanted to use the dragonfly as bait, but I did indeed release it safely. As for Novia Scotia, that's still the most time I've ever spent in Canada.

Looks like a great trip, We have returned frpm Alaska - now headed to Waldren island in the San Jusn's off of Wshington to spend a few das with Tom's sister. Tell Ms. Magoo that we did not see a walrus but did feed and pet reindeers and went to a sled dog mushers camp - very cool.
