This is the final update in the continuing saga of Puck's life. He was never able to regain his weight after his arduous outdoor adventure. It was quite possible his internal organs were failing. He passed away Saturday.
Fortunately, he was able to go in peace and comfort. He seemed to enjoy his final weeks at home; still seeking out companionship and purring whenever he got attention. He and Mather even forged a nice little friendship before he went.

I'm really sorry to hear that. At least Puck came back and you had some closure and gave him some peace in his last days.
Hope you have a restful Thanksgiving.
Goodbye, gatt.
And he was a good gatt, too. I'm glad he returned home when I was there to have a little more time with him and that he died peacefully at home...an amazing cat.
RIP, Puck. You will be missed.
Who is the larger? Mather or a cat? In the photo of Mather with her own home-cat, Gatt, she seems dwarfed by Gatt. In the sweet photo here of Mather and Puck, well, it's almost a draw...

She weighs about the same, or maybe slighter more, than Monkey, the home-cat. She weighed substantially more than post-outdoor adventure Puck, though she still doesn't weigh as much as he did in his fat-cat heyday about five years ago (when he weighed in at about 20 lbs.).
Poor little Puck, at least he came home for his last little bit and was with his family. It's funny how attached we get to our animals. I still miss my Marmalade that had a similar disappearing story 8 years ago. Bye Bye Gatt. --Tina
I'm sorry to hear Puck has departed, but glad he was able to be with the family that loved him so much in the end.
